Cleaning out a file cabinet at KFLN-AM in Baker, MT about 20 years ago I 
came across some old Birch Ratings Reports.  KOMA showed up in the 
evening ratings there as did KSTP in St. Paul/Minneapolis.  I remember 
KSTP playing some rock & roll at night. 

In the late 70's I read Larry Lujack's book "Superjock" and that 
resulted in me getting up at 4am Mountain Time in Montana to listen to 
Animal Stories on WLS.  I also had 890 on the presets of my '76 Dodge 
Dart and I listened at night.  The radio was the best thing about that 
car...I hated the gutless little slant 6 motor in it...but the AM radio 
picked up WLS like gang busters.
