There is a 900 KV DC line from Canada terminating in central Mass with a
couple of stops in NH and VT along the way. It provides only a fraction of
New England's power needs. Local generation includes a couple of Nuclear
plants as well as Coal, Oil and Natural Gas fired stations, not to mention a
number of land fill sites generating up to 5 MW each.
