[BC] Cable costs

In RI I had Cox cable and Internet. They offered two prices for Internet
(6000/2000). 39.95 if you had cable, 49.95 without cable. They also offered a
broadcast basic (18 channel) service that was 12.50 a month.

So, I bought the cheapo cable and Internet bundled for 52.45 a month.
The cable TV service wound up costing 2.50 a month.

$52 monthly for Comcast basic service here in Pittsburgh without HBO or other
premium services.  Just a straight wire into the TV.  The digital tier with
On Demand is a few dollars more.  They're also offering phone and internet.

Verizon is about to enter the picture with their Fios service.

The $5 service I had in the 70s for 12 channels is but a distant memory.
