Maybe.
But an Access doesn't cost 200 dollars like an Extreamer..or even 400 dollars
like an Instreamer.

Hmm, but can't you configure a receiving Access to turn off it's encoder and
operate in the receive only mode?  In that state, it would just sit there,
connected to the network looking for packets with the correct header?

But only the Barix only requires one stream for many connections.
The Access needs a separate stream for each connection - and that upstream
bandwith adds up fast.

The Comrex Access allows multiple connections at the same time.
