I'll respectfully disagree !!
Some of the guys who've worked for me gladly, happily, eagerly work
some of the overnight stuff, in fact BEG to do it, for the education.
For "free" if you will.......
Why ?
Because hell WILL freeze over before there is another chance to get
that education, paid or not.

Education is expensive, no matter how one acquires it.
Slave labor ? Methinks not.
Education and experience, something he can put on a resume' ? YES.
There is a quid-pro-quo either way.
Not all compensation is paid in cash !

If one has the experience such that training is not necessary AT ALL, I might agree.
Otherwise, the demonstration of attitude is worth more than one could be paid
in cash dollars.

Careful, some of us who love this industry might take umbrage
at such a devaluation of what it is that we do, we love, we live.
If pure greed is your only motivation, then I take no exception to anything
you've written in this thread, and you'll not likely work with me at any time.
If, however, wisdom comes with years passing, things may change.
You would do well to heed what Barry has penned !
