My electronics training was in the Navy - 1966. We had 41 weeks of tube
based stuff, then 1 last week of transistors with the promise that "you may
be seeing some of these in the future".


Larry, you must of gone to FT school.  I went in 69 to Great Lakes, like you
said, it was mostly tubes but
we had a RSPE (Radar Signal Processing Equipment.) that was all solid state
(gasp) and got training on it.
Oops I'm not sure if it's still classified information.
