Most of the hotels I've stayed at have used the local CATV provider for
the ISP to serve guests. Also, expensive hotels charge for Internet while
less expensive ones provide it free. I recently stayed at a $500 per night
hotel in Washington DC. I plugged my netbook into my cellphone for
internet. Earlier this week I was at a $90 per night hotel with free
internet (wireless, provided by the cable company). It worked well.
