In the US hotels were just getting with it, providing Free internet to rooms by using the part of their corporate Internet T1 or bonding a several DSL's on their trunk lines, installing a router and wiring the rooms with Cat5. Now the trend is to go back to wireless since it is easier for most people to connect. I find it difficult to be happy paying $9.95 a day for wireless in a hotel that used to have excellent speed with their LAN. Lately I have been complaining since many time their wireless won't allow me to connect to my VPN at the office. If they are going to charge $9.95 for 24 hours I want to be able to do my business on my VPN. My explaination is that I can not longer use their hotel since I cannot do business out of my room.
