 As I recall, pretty much the whole world except the US chose
 the Motorola system out of availability.
 Remember, Mother-rola owned chip plants and very quickly
 produced both transmitting systems and provided receive
 chips cheaply and in large numbers as soon as the "marketplace"
 decision became the rule, aided by Japan being one of the very
 first to legislate Motorola as their standard, and being one
 of the suppliers of receivers in large numbers.
