A long long time ago I was responsible for KLIN, a 250 fulltime AM on 1400
in Lincoln, Nebraska, and I
received a telegram from the FCC monitoring station in Powder Springs,
Georgia, allegeding that we were
26 cps off frequency. I thought one of my buddies was spoofing me. After
all, we had a monitoring station at
Grand Island, NE ninety-three miles away......and I get this Western Union
from Georgia.?? I placed a call to
Powder Springs to be sure the notice was authentic. Surenuff was. How they
measured our 250 watter on that
crowded frequency still mystifies me. ( Oh, we had a crystal oven problem.)
