Also note that there are hundreds of companies on the Web who will replace iPod batteries. I am only bringing information that should be considered by potential users, not condemning the product, although I think that "green energy storage device" is rather borderline advertising, designed to appeal to the unwashed masses. Companies that advertise like that need to be carefully watched I believe.

My local Apple Service Center does replace them, and it does pay to get the Applecare Service Contract on ALL Apple products.

For the record, my iPod has been going strong since 2004 and out-lasted a iBook G4, Macbook, and is now working on my Macbook Pro. I am also very happy with my iPod Nano that is a Year old.
