[BC] Chicago generators

Also note that many of these portable generators are designed to run power saws and the like at construction sites. As such, they are designed to have the lowest weight possible which translates to a very high operating magnetic field. This means high distortion as the alternator field runs many thousands of kilogauss.

It is likely that your audio gear will not "like" the power and if you have a SS transmitter, it may have problems as well. I have a Genrac for running my house during a power failure. My APC standby computer power supplies don't "like" the power and I occasionally burn out smoke detectors when I run it as well. It is, however, very reliable and starts even when gold-soaked to New England Winter temperatures.

 CRUD....

It's a cheap import. Besides, 6500W with a cruddy alternator is insufficient for a 1KW station. Especially with the BE-1A's picky power supplies.
