True (silly me). There is no longer any enforceable requirement to comply with the FCC rules. Might just as well eliminate them all --entirely. The Maytag repairman can journey to the TV transmitter every couple of years just to see if it is still there --just like radio.

But Richard, do TV stations really  have control?  Like radio, I get the 
impression TV is now heavily  automated.  It's not like the old days when 
there was someone switching  in MCR.
