[BC] google-analytics

This is a cheap trick you might try:

Edit your "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" file. Normally it
contains several lines of comments and a single useful entry:

127.0.0.1	localhost

Try adding a line like so:

0.0.0.0 google-analytics.com

This will effectively block connections to "google-analytics.com" for you.
The same trick can be used on other addresses as well, though to block a
website you may require an extra entry:

0.0.0.0	badsite.com
0.0.0.0	www.badsite.com

Testing your changes will drive you nuts because of browser caching. It's
probably easiest to test using the ping command (PING BADSITE.COM).

You can use a similar method in NAT routers to cover all your computers (in
the router, I set the address for a game site to something totally different
to keep the kids off the games). To keep this broadcast-related, you can
control access to porn sites from the studio computer this way, too.

I'm not sure who your Firefox guru is, but I'm getting hit with
Google Analytics on just about all known websites. Need help to permanently
block this tracking effort. I presume Google downloads a small Javascript
urchin (urchin.js) module on all computers.

I'm using the adblock plug-in and can't site block using www.
google-analytics.com/... Why doesn't this work?I suspect it may be necessary
to block all domains. This renders the internet unusable.
