Even laws protecting persons reporting a company's wrongdoings (whistle-blowers) are not effective because the companies usually maintain a staff of lawyers paid for by the stockholders. An individual, however, has to "purchase" his own lawyer. This means that a company can simply bounce a complaint back-and-forth between its lawyers, each time getting an extension from the court, while the plaintiff's lawyers need to refile each time. Eventually the plaintiff runs out of money so the company wins. Lawyer tactics-101, "The bounce defense (or offense) method."

The truth will no longer "set you free!" In fact, the truth may get a speaker in a hell of a lot of trouble. In fact, speaking the truth if you work in law enforcement could get you killed.

Cheers,

It is, however, a shame that people are afraid to speak their mind any more,
for fear of some sort of retribution.  I suppose that in the not-too-distant
future, telling the truth will be a "hate crime."
