My sister called me this morning with this problem. I know
nothing about television receiving and related devices so
wonder if someone might have an explanation for her.

She has a Magnavox dv225mg9 VCR and DVD player that is about
two years old and it started eating tapes. Yesterday she
bought another machine that appears to be exactly the same,
it even has the same instruction manual. However, when she
got it home and tried connecting it to her television set the
new one does not have the same connectors as her old one. I
searched Google for information on the machine and found this
comment by a reviewer. Her television set is an older one
and I'm guessing it requires coaxial cable inputs and outputs.

"The only draw backs are:1) unit does not offer coaxial cable
inputs and outputs to TV, which forced us to buy an RF
Modulator in order to use it. Our TV is an older model and
requires a coaxial feed."

Is it possible that Magnavox would have made the machine with
a coaxial cable input and output then remove them in later
models but not changing anything else including the manual?

I asked my sister if the installation instructions are
exactly the same in both manuals and she said they are.
