I used to do this to a Cobra 29 LTD, but not to fool the FCC, It made the 
radio run cooler so I could get more "OOMPH" out of it, and it made it MUCH 
louder to any receiving radio.

I also ran a Gates Level Devil on that Cobra! LOL
