you and others had been had by the American Heritage magazine!!!!!!
there is no such group as the wrecking crew!!!!
i play music and had been to NASHEVILLE and a few other places.
GLEN CAMPBELL had been a BEACH BOY for a while after BRIAN WILSON
went on a hiatus. and lets not forget THE CHAMPS and his own thrown
together group THE GREEN RIVER BOYS.
yes there are NASHEVILLE, NEW YORK, CHICAGO and L.A. studio musicians
that are unionized and were paid by the job. but there were no one
studio that had just one group of musicians that did it all.
THAT'S A MILLI VANILLI FOR YA, American Heritage magazine!!!!

Maybe so, but the article in American Heritage magazine noted that the
instruments on their albums, the Beach Boys, etc., etc., were all done by
Hal Blaine's "Wrecking Crew." Sorry, boys and girls, but there was no such
group as "The Tijuana Brass." Herb Alpert just called up the Wrecking Crew
when he wanted to cut a new album. Glen Campbell was on the Crew before
(and after) he started his career as a singer. Of course, there were also
the "Nashville Cats" a/k/a "The A Team." Good studio musicians could play
any genre -- just throw a chart at them and they run with it.
