Sid and I determined that WLLH wasn't the station bought by the
Consultant that shall remain nameless. That was WCAP which is listed
as Talk. WLLH is listed as ESPN sports, occasionally, it seems. The
WCAP program schedule takes me back to the 60s. Lunchtime paid
remotes. As much as I see value in local programming, this stuff is
embarrassing. It's most likely there because Boston has the good
syndicated stuff, though they are carrying my old WOR Radio Network car show.
You remember our WDEW (now WNNZ) colleague Bill Rasmussen started
ESPN, then was eased out. I'm sure he'd have a problem with this
since the ESPN spots aren't running. How much do you want to bet
they're returning affidavits that claim all ran as contracted? As a
former ABC Network employee I can tell you those affidavits are
golden. The station's value is in being listed in the Boston Metro
even if there's no signal there. It makes them look like they're in
another Top 10 market.
