My son who is a "satellite junkie" insisted that we set up an FTA motorized
dish
and it now provides about all of our TV viewing. We can watch 14 local
channels
with a 25=foot all channel antenna and a converter box, but I can't get
our local NBC station over the air since the change.

The FTA television is pretty much a hobby mode since you are at the mercy of
the providers as to what they put on the bird and when they do it. But we
watch the following channels.

NBC feeds of Nightly News and other network programs.
        Feeds of MSNBC and CNBC
An ABC affiliate from the western states
        Two or more Fox affiliates...
        ABC News Now (24 hours)
        Montana PBS
Two or three stations that program the "THIS" movie channel
A Texas station that carries some Ranger games
An Arkansas station that carries some Cardinal games..
Several other over-the-air stations (most of which are owned by
Equity
            Broadcasting which is in bankruptcy.)
Several foriegn news channels in English, including Al Jaziera which
I prefer to the
            US networks
Lot's of raw news feeds and back feeds things like college sports
after you learn the system
and for relaxation we watch a channel with a 24 hour live cam on the
beach
            at Huntington Beach, California.
There are a lot of radio channels, too.
Can't get CBS, CNN, Fox News or ESPN at the moment, but I can always visit
the local pub for sports : <)
