[BC] Does Gmail have spell checker

IIRC, actually, Gmail does have a spellchecker - but, since I access via 
Thunderbird - which has an EXCELLENT spellchecker... (although its 
suggested alternative spellings can be a bit... off the wall, shall we say?)
