[BC] anyone with UVerse yet?

This is beginning to sound like the Telco Wars of the late 19th and 
early 20th centuries... when it was long distance to call next 
door... if you were on a different phone company than your 
neighbor... and prudent businesses had phones from every provider in 
town to make it easier for their customers to call.  Especially drug stores.

And anybody with a few thousand feet of wire and a couple of 
instruments could get into being "The Phone Company".  Ma eventually 
absorbed most; although others got their shares, as well - and in 
rural areas, "The Phone Company" might still be a bunch of guys with 
a few thousand feet of wire and a couple of instruments.....
