Define "good"

I have a CLA-4 that sounds pretty good - and hard to get more basic than 
AGC/peak limiting.

IIRC, it was originally branded BE; UREI and Marti also offered the same 
unit.  Antique?  Maybe.  (I don't have a manual for it any more, 
though.  It got wet; mimeograph ink runs when it gets wet.... badly...)

And "economically" may vary depending on where you are - the unit is in 
Indianapolis... shipping, handling, etc.
