It would be a lot easier to track down if it were consistant... It only does
this occaisionally.

One of the machines had a problem with Win32Virut... a real pain.  Ran every
reputable program you
can think of to get rid of it... (sophos anti-rookit, SDFix, Lavsoft, Hijack
this, regseeker, symantec, Avast, etc.)
Now all the programs come up good to go, the machine is clean but I have a
huge startup time which going to taskman and msconfig don't really fix.
None of the above programs were kept after the cleanup.  But the taskman
list must have 8 different svchost.exe entries.. may have to go to one of
the *.ini files and see what's up.

I'm about to just wipe the thing (gad) and start over.


   The other machine had none of this.  But they BOTH have had the Zarasoft
stuff on them.
