WEAM , Morningside MD had a 5 or 10 U and was a supermodulator until the

Yes, I had heard the WEAM transmitter and it was a talker. It was a 10 kW
version and I understand that it had been additionally modified. The three
of those I was involved with had the single tube final for 5 kW. even though
two were the BTA-5U and BTA-5U2. None of them would do much for positive
peaks except for the short time after we put new tubes in the modulators and
final.
I was competing with a BTA-5H that had plenty of modulating power at 5 kW
with two 5762's in the PA stage. It is my recollection that the BTA-10H used
three 5762's in the final PA stage.
I always wante to see what was done to the WEAM transmitter. It really was
loud and sounded good.

Dave
