I happened to stop at a Radio Shack on Friday to pick up some
twin-lead at closeout prices. (I'm using it to build some PVC-enclosed
"J-pole" FM receive antennas to sell to local HD Receptor owners
having trouble with BA's supplied antenna.)

While in the store, just up the street from the Roxborough antenna
farm in Philadelphia, I asked the guy behind the counter if he had any
HD Radios in stock. He seemed to know what I was talking about (good
sign) but said they didn't expect any until December! This response
contradicts the press releases I read in May, which claim Radio
Shack's "pilot" HD marketing project was supposed to include
Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, the local HD Alliance stations are faithfully running their
promo spots -- I've even heard the Spanish version on the new "Rumba
104.5" (which Clear Channel flipped on Wednesday) -- kind of funny
because almost all of the other commercials on the station are still
in English.
