Agreed.  Recalling that my old analog cell phone sounded a whole lot 
better than any "digital" phone I've had since.  The only thing "digital"
did was allow the cell providers to squeeze more conversations in the
available bandwidth - but the public was "wowed" into thinking digital
was better.
