you could always go for a base like this one made by radiall-larsen
http://www.tessco.com/products/displayProducts.do?groupId=365&subgroupId=15&search=false&page=2

it gives you a magnetic base with a standard NMO base on it, then you can
use any antenna that is made to work with a drilled hole and NMO base.
