[BC] Beta Brite or ALPHA

Bill:

I was contemplating how to do this myself. I have a BetaBrite on my TFT 911
unit and it looked so cool, I wanted to use it for "Dead Air", "Hotline",
etc.

Couldn't you use a relay closure from the EAS unit to switch the BetaBrite's
serial input from the Sine controller to the EAS unit while the alert was
active, and then back to the Since controller afterwards?

If nothing else, I could just buy a second BetaBrite unit.

Phil,
The Sine Systems MBC-1 message board controller works well with the
Beta Bright signs. It permits 15 different pre programmed messages from 15
contact closures. It does not permit simultaneous running of an external
serial stream. The signs have a dedicated proprietary data format. I'm not
sure if it works with the Alpha signs.
We use them for such messages as "EAS alert", "Hotline rings",
"station silent", "Doorbell" and so on. They can be momentary, repeating or
latched. I wish I could also take the serial stream from the EAS decoder as
well, but no such luck and I've tried researching it. It would be nice to
do both, but I'll settle for the 15 messages.
