[BC] Interesting sign-offs and Tech Difficulties

" I think I'd have a problem with that. Are you sure the salesperson
wasn't still working with the client to extend the buy? If the client
did extend it how would you have explained the lack of the other two
spots?...I know it's heresy here to suggest that anyone but engineering has
brains, but, sometimes they do. If you had cost my station the
additional money I would have fired you.
Rich "

Rich,

You make a good point and had I screwed up, I would have been in deep
doo-doo. However, in the instance that I cited, there was no possibility of
an extended buy. The station was a daytimer and the station signed off
shortly after the 5th ad ran. The ad was for a one-time-only appearance of
group at a local nightclub and each piece of copy stated something like
"tonight...Wednesday night only...see the fabulous whatevers at the Canyon
Lake Club." Shortly after the order was turned in, the salesperson left and
the offices closed for the day. IIRC, all the ads were scheduled between 5
and 8 PM (sign-off) that evening. Each of the five ads that I cut, and the
two that were omitted, were virtually identical as to content. Basically,
the sentences were swapped around. (I didn't have much for brains then, as
I wasn't in engineering.)

Respectfully submitted,

Gary, K?CX
