I had to boot up my Terrasonde test set once at airport security.

It starts with a little guy running across the screen. "O, a video game",
said the screener.

Perhaps the more important question is "How does this happen?"
Is it a TSA agent, airline employee, airport employee or other
unauthorized person(s) tampering with and pilfering from your
checked baggage. If items can be removed from, they can also
be deposited into your baggage.

I would contact the TSA, FBI and other law enforcement agency
to investigate this matter. A few years ago I saw a news story
which showed on hidden cameras baggage handlers going through
luggage. They were fired by the airline. This was probably before
9/11. There is no excuse for this. I remember placing my Potomac
SD-31 in my luggage and carrying the Delta OIB-3 as carry-on.
The look on the screener's face when opening the OIB was
priceless!
