The latest Hurricane Center discussion has Wilma as a Cat 5 storm with 175
MPS winds. NHC also observed she may have the lowest barometric pressure
ever measured in an Atlantic storm. They're working to confirm that record.

2005 now has three of the top 6 deepest storms ever seen in the Atlantic
basin. The others are Andrew, the un-named storm in the 30's, and Gilbert.

Latest long range projection has the storm weakening and then targeting
Southern Florida/Ft. Myers north of the Keys as a category 3 storm upon
landfall. HOWEVER, I would not want to be in the Keys as she goes by as
the forecast track has the some of the worst winds going over the outermost
keys and staying there for a while as she turns more even more easterly.

If you have stations across the southern 1/2 of FLA, time to place your
disaster preparation plans into action. Land fall is expected sometime over
the weekend.
