Robert,

Do you not find any enjoyment in "real-time" TV? CNN? CNN-HN? Fox News?
The Weather Channel? I can certainly time-shift TV myself, but I find
that my sense of "now" is gratified by keeping one of the aforementioned
networks on around the house or office.

Do you not find any enjoyment in skimming the channels, looking for a
rerun of CSI or Law & Order? I delight when my schedule and one of
these shows happen sync up.

Another benefit of watching other that what you've recorded is the same
benefit as with listening to music other than your iPod - you'll likely
see or hear something new. Is there no benefit or joy in that for you?

Best!
