Actually, when I worked at my first transmitter site, much like a fine car, on Friday nights you would paste wax the transmitter. Main was BTA-5F, Aux was a beautiful 1942 RCA 1K. Don't know about speed, but their lines were graceful. They weren't named except when there was a failure. I won't repeat the names the CE used for them at those times.
