Because it's a knee-jerk reaction that anytime anyone has the slightest bit
of difficulty at a radio and/or TV station, they call the engineers.
Anytime their MIGHT be a problem, call the engineer.  Except of course, when
the station goes off the air.  Then they complain to the GM they tried to
find you and couldn't, beside the fact I have two telephone numbers, a pager
number, my voicemail calls my cell and carry a hand held two way radio with
the base back in the newsroom......all the while, sitting in the break room
eating lunch watching the Young and the Restless.
