Did a little research,, WHAT A MESS..

I knew 540 was still on the air in Pocomoke but since I have never the Top
of the hour ID I supposed they were still WDMV.
I tried to call the station but no answer.

It looks like these stations are just turned on and connected to a digital
jukebox and left alone. Gone are the good old days when they had to care.

Tried to tune in 700 with one of my long wires but no prize. Nothing on the
inverted V either.

Sorry, but WDMV is in Walkersville, MD. The station in Pocomoke City
is WGOP. Birach swapped their calls some time ago but I understand
they use the earlier call on 540 with just a semi-hidden "WGOP" at the
legal times.

OTOH, 700 Walkersville is reported to be so sloppily run that the call
may or may not appear at normal times.

As Dennis surely knows, Birach is trying to move 540 to a location
between Balitmore and DC about 100 miles from the present location -
and share a location with a moved 700. IMO they will never get zoning
approval dor the total of 7 towers close to the center of Damascus,
MD.

The story (and problems) of the two stations is too long and complex
to go into here. Use of Google and Groups Google will tell you more.
