Mud Daubers aren't nearly so aggressive as yellow jackets. If they were
people protesting something... they'd the pacifists on a sit-in on the left
coast somewhere... You can pretty well swat away a mud dauber with your
hat, and he will pick up and move on. You can usually even thump a mud
dauber out of the way with a finger and he'll just fly away.
Be sure to knock him stupid... hel'll sort it out and go away. Or... just
leave him alone, and work around him.

But try that with the yellow jacket and he's really likely to come after
you.!
(mud daubers are usually rather dull colored brown and yellow... yellow
jackets a much brighter yellow and black... they're *I think* in the wasp
family and some hornets look alot like yellow jackets but white and black)

All bets are off in confined spaces with mud dauber nests over a foot
across, however...
such as in an old attic. They get a bit more aggressive then...
