Both have mono audio even when the signal is very strong and listening on
a receiver with no stereo-blend at all. My Volkswagen OEM car radio
(manufactured by Clarion) did have overly aggressive FM stereo-blend, but
I was lucky to find a trim-pot which adjusts the stereo-blend threshold
point. I adjusted it to the minimum, and now as long as the signal is
strong enough to detect the stereo pilot, it is received in stereo. But
out of all the home and portable radios I have, none have any kind of FM
stereo-blend, except for one Philips-Magnavox boom-box. Some of these
radios don't have a Mono/Stereo button either, which can make listening
to marginal-strength FM Stereo signals quite annoying, with the constant
background hiss.
