Bt hasn't it always been this way in Europe? There the pirates forced the
establishment into 'hipness'. BBC Radio one is the result.

But here in America, you are right, they truly do NOT get it....

pirate radio. They get it. And so naturally, the rich established media
don't like listeners being offered anything that 'they' don't offer, and so
they use the weight of the law - the law that they bought and paid for - to
suppress them.
