After five years of looking at a STL transmit dish that I just "KNEW"
was pointed wrong, I did the azmuth between the sites and used the US
Navy sun-angle website to find the time of day that the sun was
in-line with the sites.
( much better than a compass )
Sure enough, the transmit antenna was pointing around 190 degrees instead of
260 degrees ......... doubled the uv reading on the receiver when I
pointed the feed support into the sun..
Next day, I did a reverse sun-angle and the receive antenna was
pointing too far to the south. Again , correctly pointed, I doubled
the uv reading on the receiver.
The original installer must have found a good reflector , or the side
lobes were aligned with each other.
