EAS Stations. We want to make sure you are aware of a NOAA Weather
Radio outage in the eight communities listed below. As many Alaska
stations use NOAA Weather Radio as a primary EAS listening source,
particularly for Tsunami Warnings, we wanted you to be aware so you
can take appropriate steps to make sure you have alternate sources
during the outage.
The communities are all rural and folks really depend on NWS
I poked around and there is no 'official' way that I could find to
stream NWS - there are a few apps but they are basically people piping
local NWS into a computer widget that makes it available online. There
are none listed in Alaska, but it wouldn't matter because the stations
are off right now.
I wonder if there is anyway to find a contact at NOAA/NWS who might be
able to help figure this out - seems like it's kind a no-brainer to
stream the weather radio audio online, particularly when the stations
are off the air.
