[EAS] LA Times: Reeling from the deadliest wildfire in a century Maui sees ghosts from Californias past

I understand that EAS was not activated at all for the Maui fires?

This article below indicates that a Maui station is providing emergency information now, but do we know what were they doing in the early stages of the fire? 

Does anyone in Hawaii EM or broadcasting have any insight into this? (i.e. access to EAS box logs, etc)
