[EAS] Code Red Outage

For those who are dealing with the outage at Code Red/OnSolve, the Nevada
SECC and Division of Emergency Management, have been able to set up an
agreement with AlertSense for issuing CAP EAS activations. The Code Red
outage began early today, and our Authorized Alert Originators were not able
to access the program for routine testing. 

 

I confirmed the outage with Code Red. It is system wide. They had not
determined the cause and could not give an estimate on when the service
would be restored. 

 

The temporary agreement with Alert Sense, our former CAP provider, means we
our broadcasters and other EAS Participants will continue to receive any CAP
messages issued while Code Red is not available. California has also set up
an agreement with Alert Sense for the time being. Alert Sense and other CAP
providers may be willing to work with your state until Code Red is back on
line.
