Hi, Clay:

Congratulations!

You managed to survive and prevail for not only the entire Part 11 history of EAS, but also slaved away in improving public alert and warning going back in time to EBS and whatever we used to do to warn cave dwellers about roaming predators.

:-)

I have not decided yet if I am going to stay on in CA as SECC Chair after Jim Gabbert's retirement a few months ago, so I am caught between missing you and your EAS moral support from Washington State and happiness that you and the public-private partnership you built put Washington State on the map big time on how public alert and warning should work as an example of how to do it right.

I am cautiously optimistic that the individuals I am working with now at CalOES will adopt some of your Washington State alert and warning policies and practices.

So, thanks for all you have done, all you have put in place, and for the friendship between us that goes back almost to those cave dwelling days that will most certainly continue.

Regards and fair winds,

Richard
