To followup on my own message.  I was informed off-list the theatrical 
release of "The Purge" in cinemas used real EAS codes and tones.

The broadcast TV and cable edit of The Purge has different EBS/EAS audio, 
and re-engineered alert sounds.

So a sound engineer (or standards & practices lawyer) somewhere was paying 
attention.
