If you replace the electrolytic caps in these boxes with high quality
electrolytics, they should last much longer. They will also last a lot
longer if not confined to the inside of a rack, or other warm
environment.

The cheap ($25-$50) ATSC set-top converter boxes last only about 18 
months before failing.  I don't want to buy a $1000 cable head-end
ATSC 
tuner.
