I agree, thanks for posting.
One thing that I learned from the Santa Rose fire was that too many
people did not know how to open their garage door after the power died.
So they called 911 for help which certainly did not make the burden on
dispatch any easier.
100 years ago people appear to have been much more self-sufficient than
today.
San Francisco has had air raid sirens as long as I've been alive. At
the moment they are silent to be rebuilt but will be back on line.
Zayante Fire Protection District has a siren at their Lompico Fire House.
At least when that siren goes off everybody hears it even if they were
sleeping.
Sometimes old tech is best.
