Have you heard the WX messages this year?  Not only do they advise of the
event and hazard, but they also advise of a longer list of towns/cities,
highways with mile-marker spans, and specific large venues
(colleges/universities, stadiums, et al). The damn messages are nearly two
minutes long where the polygon covers multiple interstates and venues. One
recent message here listed 5 interstates and more than 7 venues.

In rural locations, messages may not be any longer as they may not have
interstates or major venues. But in urban locations, the NWS is going the
wrong way if they want to see broadcast air their warnings directly.
