Our box's "forward inhibit closure" is a human.
Not a solution for lots of stations nowadays, but that's what we use.

On the downside... non-human contact closures need to be told only once how to do it!

If the box will accept a forward inhibit closure which the automation
system can delay the sending of a pending alert until the inhibit is
lifted....except for EAN/EAT and NPT. All others could be externally
inhibited to their time limit.
