IMPORTANT: DASDEC and OneNet users should have received the notice below regarding an important digital certificate update, which was sent to the email address used when registering the equipment. Just to further close the loop, we're also sending out this information via the EAS list.

For DASDEC and One-Net users, please be aware that we have issued an updated digital Certificate Authority (CA) file to continue digital signature verification for FEMA IPAWS messages. The current IPAWS digital certificate is set to expire on Monday,_September_24,_2018 (note this relates to the expiration of an intermediary cert used for validating IPAWS CAP messages).

If the updated CA file is not installed and digital certificate authentication is enabled on your DASDEC or One-Net, CAP alerts from IPAWS may not be authenticated or processed. Users who fail to update their equipment could see the error message: "Event Log:Digital Signature VERIFICATION ERROR : Signer UNTRUSTED! Check for correct CAP decoder CA file.;" on subsequent IPAWS messages, or no further messages from IPAWS.

If you have any question please contact support at digitalalertsystems.com or support at monroe-electronics.com.

If you've already seen the other notices and have updated your CA file, no further action is necessary and we apologize for this friendly reminder. Otherwise, please follow the link above and update your devices to assure proper continued operation.

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter and continued support.

FEMA will be evaluating alternative mechanisms to distribute these digital certificates in the future, which will hopefully alleviate the need to manually update devices. The next known digital certificate expiration will be in November 2019, and we are hopeful discussions will begin shortly to bring forward a solution that will benefit all users.

Best regards,
